Angie Martinez, known as the voice of New York Hip Hop Radio, has officially switched to Power 105.1.  Those of us in the tri-state area know that Hot 97 and Power 105.1 have been battling for the number 1 radio spot for quite some time now.  While Power has been able to attract people like Dj Envy and DJ Clue over to Power 105.  Angie Martinez leaving Hot 97 is some what surprising as she has been with Hot 97 since 1996 and arguably one of the stations most valuable assets.

Angie is personable, friendly, non confrontational and really comes across as the girl next door you can trust with a secret even if millions of people are listening along.  Angie Martinez has interviewed Jay-Z, Nas, Kanye, Kim Kardashian and President Obama has called in to her show.

According to The Breakfast Clubs Charlamange, Envy and Angela Yee Angie will be a guest sometime next week June 23 – 27.  So more to come on this.
