How To Shop For A Sneaker Lover

Are you struggling with shopping for the sneaker lover in your life?

If the person you come home to, love and adore has a room, section, or corner with Nike, Jordan and Yeezy boxes stacked damn near to the ceiling
or they have more than 20 drop front boxes you know the challenges of dating a sneaker addict. You know all to well about the Saturday morning
battle against the bots and the weekly sneaker deliveries.

Now the question, is what do you buy for your sneaker addict? Especially if you don’t know a Jordan 1 from the an Air Ship or an OG DS from a
GR Retro.

Here are a few quick steps/tips to help you out…

Buy What You Would Like To See Them In

If you don’t know a specific brand or item he/she wants just purchase an item you know looks good and/or will give him/her a lookout they would not normally buy for themselves.

The truth is we are always not as adventurous when shopping.  We tend to find a look we like and stick with it.  So, purchasing something you like can introduce him/her to a new look.  If you see something that will look good for them, get it.

Buy Matching Items For Him/Her And The Kids

Ofcourse, this one is A.) assuming they have kids and B.)  assuming said kids are under 10 years old.  Any older and the kids will have a fit and not cooperate.

Now if A and B are true not even the sneaker lover who loves having 1 of 1 items, no one else has can resist the opportunity to walk around in a matching outfit with their mini-me for some mommy and me or daddy and me time.

Take Pics of His/Her Sneakers

The key to this tip is to allow the sales staff at the store you’re shopping at/interested in to help you find items your sneaker lover will love.  Essentially when you take pictures of the sneakers you want to find complimenting items for it makes it easier for you to give you the best recommendations and outfit ideas.

Also contacting the store this way helps you see what the customer service is like.  How does this store treat potential customers?  We’re living in a time where there are so many scam brands that rip you off I think it’s best to contact and brand ask questions and see if and how they respond before spending your hard earned money.

If you can not answer and/or be respectful before you get my money, I seriously doubt it will get better afterward.  Just my opinion

Take Note Of The Brands He Wears And Which Fit Him Best

Now, this is for those sneaker lovers who are brand loyal.  Meaning they only wear specific brands.  If you try to gift them something, not from one of the brands they love they will either look at you like you’re crazy and use it as a rag.  Or simply say thank you smile and use it as a rag.

Anyway, for this group of people, it is probably a good idea to buy from brands they know, love, and usually shop with.

Customize/Personalize it

Now, this in my opinion makes the perfect gift for even the pickiest sneaker lover.  Maybe I’m biased but custom, in mind, is better than any designer/name brand item any day of the week.

With this option, you can either use the tips above, sit back and relax and get ideas for the sneaker fiend in your life or you can literally create anything your heart desires and anything you can think of.

The beauty is you can make what you want; colors, style, fonts.  Place the logo on the back or side, change it from a tee to sweatshirt and you never need to get in the car, on.
